...does it make a sound? I don't know. Because I didn't hear it. I was home. So was Carrie and the tree did fall -- a big tree. But we couldn't tell you when it happened. Perhaps it was late at night. Perhaps we couldn't hear it over the 45 mph sustained winds. Regardless, the beautiful evergreen in our backyard -- basically a giant christmas tree -- toppled over last night after 2 days of torrential rains and one night of serious winds.
Miraculously, it only grazed the house and didn't do huge damage. Also, no one got hurt. The bird who lives in it is quite surprised...still! I've documented it below in photos in and video.
I've also captured some video of the scene so you can get an idea of the total damage around the house and the tree in front of the house that looks like it's going to bite it soon too:
