19/07: It's amazing how far customer service can go....
Let me start with this -- a good mechanic is worth his weight in iPhones ;-) A good real estate agent is worth his/her weight in dollars -- literally. We've toyed with the real estate market very briefly in the past 3 or 4 years but we've been educated rather quickly. The bottom line -- there is no replacement for honesty, hard work and a little customer service. Given that our first real estate agent, although a star performer, turned out to be someone who was way too busy for our phone calls and always sounded annoyed to receive them, we thought that most agents behaved this way. We felt abandoned and on our own as she led us from one deal to the next (which earned her tons of money and left us holding on to a half million dollar property out in the ex-urbs of Washington DC).Fast forward a few months and she mysteriously disappears from the Northern Virginia real estate game and in comes her replacement -- Walt Scott and his partner Tracy (also his daughter). Walt and Tracy have proven themselves to be honest, helpful, friendly and always looking out for our best interests. We're managing our property remotely (from the other side of the country) and they've always been there to let people, get things fixed, set up appointments and generally take care of our house while we're on the West coast.
That kind of service doesn't come along very often and should be cherished and passed on as much as possible. The more people learn about Walt and Tracy Scott, the better their business will be and the more people will benefit from their kind of service. So, this posting is simply a plug for Team Scott at Re-Max in Ashburn, VA. Walt and Tracy are truly the best realtors we've ever dealt with and we'd highly recommend them to anyone house hunting or looking to sell in Loudoun and Fairfax counties in Virginia.
